2nd Annual House of Hope Dinner -
On Saturday, November 10th, House of Hope held its Second Annual Dinner in Sandy Spring, MD. As with last year’s event, the youth performance was equally powerful, and captured how easily the struggles and traps of adolescent life can lead to destruction without a guiding spiritual force. The drama showed the road choices – darkness and despair or light through Christ’s love for each child. Following the skit, a mother and daughter (Danielle) shared their personal experiences with House of Hope in Orlando. The story was heartbreaking and tears were hard to hold back as Danielle unfolded the painful story of her youth. At the same time, this was a special time as Danielle delivered her testimony for the first time in front of her mother. Danielle shared that her life was forever transformed after receiving God’s provisions at House of Hope Orlando. She greatly encouraged the audience to support House of Hope Maryland’s efforts believing that it will change lives and be a positive force in the community. Now, Danielle, in her twenties, is forgiven and forgiving. She exhibits compassion, mercy, and kindness, as well as strength and courage. She has beaten the forces of destruction that earlier gripped her, and can now assist others in leading productive lives. We are grateful for this Saturday evening event and encouraged going into the new year.
